\u00a0 \u2018Coronavirus\u2019, \u2018COVID-19\u2019, \u2019virus\u2019, \u2019lockdown\u2019, \u2018quarantine\u2019 was the most used words in 2020. Now we enter a new phase of it, even at the end of the year, \u2018The Tier Phase\u2019 or \u201cThe Regional Lockdown\u2019. The latest decision taken by the Government was to impose a different set of rules for other areas of the UK to trace and tackle the virus with more efficiency and accuracy. But how about the construction industry? Were no new rules taken regarding how the building process should be made safer during this pandemic that seems not to reach a finale?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u00a0Businesses working in construction-related jobs and projects felt that with this appearance of the COVID-19, a reshaping of the industry was necessary since the start of the year. The changes are apparent if we look at the new H&S on-site rules or the continuous rescheduling and adapting to make projects progress.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0If someone had entered a construction site before February 2020, it would be a regular sight to see people gathering around, shaking hands, and working in big teams. But, since February, the view of construction sites has changed. Now the workforce is instructed to comply with specific rules and follow the new-imposed measures to minimise the risk of contamination. Face masks, one-way routes, temperature checking stations, and sanitiser-disposers are now standard construction site features.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0The importance of these rules is to be seen in government advice. Continuous improvement and development of the regulations have made the construction industry safer regarding COVID-19 risk of contamination.<\/span><\/p>
